Elderberry Syrup Recipe

Ingredients

  • Elderberry Kit
    • ¼ cup dried elderberries
    • 1 cinnamon stick
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1/2 cup raw honey 

Instructions

  1. Put the elderberries, cinnamon, cloves, and water into a pot.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Turn down the heat. Cover the pot and simmer for 45 minutes until the liquid reduces by half.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool.
  5. Pour the liquid through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl.
  6. Press the berries with a spoon to get all the juice out.
  7. Stir in the raw honey until it dissolves.
  8. Pour the syrup into a clean glass jar with a tight lid.
  9. Store the jar in the fridge for up to two months.
